The Curse of Captain Dax

Captain Dax has a peculiar problem with dying. He starts each day as one normally does. He tends to his crew and animals onboard the ship. But everyday near sundown, Captain Dax is killed and forced to spend the rest of the evening as a ghost. Yesterday it was from poisoning. The day before, a mutiny. Last week he was squashed while fighting the Claw of Jormag. No matter how he dies, by morning his body is fully restored, and he is doomed to repeat his daily demise.

When asked about his condition, and why he considers it a curse rather than a blessing, Captain Dax simply stated, "Dying hurts. I don't recommend it."
