Brothers: Harbinger of Night

Alastor Nox was an enforcer in the Flame Legion and came to be known as "the whip" by his subordinates. His most distinct features are his glowing red eyes which he obtained by devouring one of Balthazar's relics and his jet black fur, similar to his mother. In his early days as a cub, he grew up with an older brother and a younger sister before being seized by Gaheron Baelfire's troops during a raid. His last memory of his village is that of his father's death as he desperately tried to rescue Alastor from his captors. Nox assumes the rest of his family perished during the incursion. After rising through the ranks in the Flame Legion from slave miner to officer, he became strong enough to defect and kill every pursuer sent after him. He thought about changing his name back to the one he had before being taken by the Legion but could not bear to carry the memories that come with it.

He wandered throughout Tyria, wanting to but unable to escape the violence he became accustomed to as a Charr under Baelfire's command. He joined the Aetherblade pirates for a year before being employed by Scarlet to obtain materials to create her "drill" then eventually became a vagabond of the Mists where he rose to the title of Commander in the Blackgate army.

Despite leaving the Flame Legion and keeping his involvement with the Aetherblades a secret, there are those who doubt his intentions as a Mists leader and plot to destroy him. A small organization known as the Light of Tyria, under the guidance of a great fabled guardian from Ascalon, is rumored to have taken a keen interest in fulfilling this task.
