For a long time, the profession of tattoo artist was shrouded in mystery: even today, many people, mostly older people, believe that the person who inks your skin has to be tough, bold and, above all, masculine. Someone you'd better not meet in the dark. Pah!
But tattoos are no longer a sign of rebellion, but an expression of one's own self and creativity. Just like the artists whose needles they come from. The tattooing profession is no longer exclusively male, even if the cliché still prevails in many people's minds.

There's a bit of cosplay today. The screens tell the story of how an unknown norn woman approached Notary Grímur Oddursson from the Guild Initiative to ask if she could open a tattoo parlour in Lion's Arch. And it worked out, because she is a friend of Brahams. First she had to approach all sorts of people and persuade them to get their first tattoo, because hardly anyone outside Hoelbrak was interested. Now she has opened a modern tattoo parlour (with Inquest Overseer Chair) and is known throughout Tyria.

Where I live and work: Postern Ward in Lion's Arch
That's how I got into tattooing: Honestly? Through a lot of detours. I probably would never have had the idea, but luckily I met someone who knew better than me.
My first tattoo: Yes, back then I still thought the tattoo had to mean something. A norn gave me his old machine, which I then used to get my first tattoos at home.
Describe your tattooing style: I don't specialise in any particular style. I believe that the customer is king. Any style that a customer wants is possible in principle. Of course, I'm happy when I'm given creative freedom.
Being a woman in the tattoo scene means being blocked because a customer's girlfriend realises that his tattoo artist is not an unattractive man. Oh, and sure, every now and then you have to prove it twice to a few dusty alpha males. On the other hand, I have great guys behind me who push me a lot. Fortunately, my personal experience is that it really is the work that counts.
