Im working on this for a very long time and im still not happy with the full outcome of the look.

I want to achieve the look of a badass veteran charr soldier who stepped away from the legion (as my charr in the main story) and then started adventuring into the world. From time to time he has replaced his past legionaire armor with parts from various monsters he has killed on his journey.

So far the back story.

For weapons I would like to go with most of the beastslayer weapons as I think they would fit the most into the Setting

As I was unable to specify armors and Dyes due to server error on this site I'll do it here.

I took different colors for each monster part because they would be from different monsters and not all have the same color.

Difficult to work in just grey/brown. I would look to add a yellow/orange/red into the brown, then catch that colour in some highlights or armour details.
Your armour doesn't have many channels/details so this is hard: gloves for example. I would also match loin cloth to shoulders, its easier to match dyes of the same textile.

Hey! Thanks for the fast reply :) Yeah I kinda went with the "Adventurer Dye Palette" an not using many high contrast colors. I will try your advice and put some highlight into the chest and the gloves. I need to keep those peaces although they do not have many dye channels.

What do you mean by matching Ioic cloth to shoulders? Do you mean by that that you would suggest matching the cloth (under and between the other armor pieces) should have same color like the houndskin?

If you have any reccommendation for other armor pieces that would fit into the same setting though, I would be glad to hear them :)

difficult, for this sort of thing I'd probably go bladed head, body and feet, mistwalker legs, warbeast gloves, ebon pauldrons. To keep the wavey feel alive. Little bit nomad/mad max. Spikey so he cant be eaten/picked up. Plenty of detail options. If I went dinosaur skins I'd go bright! and have fun with it. take it easy, am not a regular just fancied showing off my new flaming eyeball norn.

Those are some nice recommendations :) I'll play around the wardrobe with them tomorrow. Are you sure about going bright on the different beast skins? I tried going for more saturated orange, red, green etc. and It makes my charr look like a parrot :D Thats why I went with the shadow dyes because they have some color but are still not as bright and keep the darker touch

If you don't have a lot of dyes unlocked it can be a bit overwhelming to know what to try out and to go for but there's plenty options between the shadow dyes and something very bright and glowing.
You can sort the dyes by hue or by material. In the "natural leather" and "natural metalic" category it should be easier to find dyes that provide some color but aren't too parrot-y.
"Shade" dyes might be another point to start. I also like things like the olive and pine dyes or tarnish, patina and marine on sylvari cultural and bounty hunter armor. Sometimes they provide more texture and different colors in a single dye channel.
I tried a similar concept on my thief and experimented with different colors on the bounty hunter boots. Maybe you'll find some inspiration there? https://imgur.com/a/gr1lgpg

Thank you very much for you tips :) I wasnt aware that I could sort colors by hue or material :D Your shots are a great inspiration where to go with my dye palette. I'll try around and update with new images when I have something to show

Would you suggest to color the bounty hunter parts in different colors (as my plan was) to seem like pieces from different biests or should I opt for a more general feel by not adding too much variation?

I've updated the look and added a bit more detailing. Also left the original image as reference

I'd experiment with both.
Having the bounty hunter parts from different beasts in different colors would be cool if you can pull it off and tie everything together roundly.

What you think about my last images? I have them in different colors and I played around with some colors for horns and beast skins. I'm satisfied but I think the look is missing the special something ^^

It is looking pretty good and has more going on than the first version, for sure.
I feel like something tying the outfit together is still missing but i'm not exactly sure what. Maybe dye the metal bits on the shoulders in a similar color than the spikes on the chest and arms? But then the legs wouldn't really have anything they match anymore, hmm...

hiya,
here's my suggestion keeping it 'highlights' rather than blending the parrot which would take me ages....
dyes top to bottom, left to right.

eye patch: midnight bronze , enameled legacy
houndskin: Arid, Pyre golden, sheen.
bounty chest: Matriach brass, sunfire lava, pyre
bounty gloves: Matriach brass, sunfire lava
council guard legards: Dawn, Searing, enameled brass
Mistward warboots: Dawn

The boots are less fussy. Its not black and grey but sometimes I think gw2 looks like an emo rock festival, with the odd blue crystal meta obsession. I've not really OCD'd the dyes to death its more a flavour of what I meant.
good luck, remeber the only one taht has to like it is you

Ty for you suggestions. Some of those dyes are really nice :) i need to get them (although will be costly :D)

I kinda prefer my dye palette yours is too golden and shiny for my taste but like you said, "The only one that has to like it is me". I can't stand your legguards for example because the tail of my char clips through the back.

I will further expirement with some dyes and maybe switch out some parts im mostly set on most of the pieces (chest, shoulders and gloves).

I'll definately vote for your norn ;)
