93 Colossus 1331 AE. I've returned to Divinity's Reach just in time to see the end of the Wintersday festivities. Things were very hectic for a while, but I'm settling back in to the atmosphere here in Kryta again.

In the middle of celebrating the holiday with my adoring wife, and chatting with some of the locals who I represent, I was summoned to the Council chambers to discuss a referendum for emergency action regarding the status of the Elder Dragons. No one better qualified to discuss such than the Champion of Aurene, no?

After discussing the status of Aurene and our plans to deal with Kralkatorrik, we thought it best to truly cement the Krytan peoples' alliance with the Norn, as they have the best eyes on Jormag, the Ice dragon. With barely any time to say goodbye, I was rushing to Hoelbrak to arrange an audience with the Norn Elder, Knut Whitebear.

However, the charm the worked so well on the Krytan ministers fell on deaf ears with these hearty people. So what is one to do when finding himself in a foreign new land? Adapt! It took almost two gold to buy enough rounds, but I found alcohol-based diplomacy goes over very well. I learned many of their ways that they don't teach others, like a bonding ritual called the "kegstand." It took almost four days -- at least I think four days... they wouldn't let me buy rounds without having some myself -- but I secured my audience.

The method I was accustomed to, an intense audience ending with drafting a formal treaty to be returned to the council for consideration, was not on the agenda however. I was simply tasked with providing enough of our "frail" human reinforcements to deal with a Sons of Svanir encampment set up near the edge of Hoelbrak. If knocking off a few dragon-worshipping thugs will secure this treaty, it was a deal!

It was... comically easy, to put it lightly. I've been spending years honing my powers and fighting dragons. I simply walked to the camp in broad daylight, with blade drawn. There was some norn shouting insults, another pulls out his bow and fires some shots at me, I deflect all of them with an arcane barrier spell, and then proceed to wail on them. Not my proudest victory, but a victory none the less.

They say the pen is mightier than the sword. At the end of the day, I'm lucky that I'm good with both.

So, I wanted to revamp my elementalist's gear and happened to discover the Ascalonian Performers shoulders. How I have never noticed that piece is beyond me, as I've been playing this game since release. Since it has a fur trim on it, it's currently Wintersday, and our next Living Story release will be taking us back to the mountains, I tried to make an outfit that looked warm, noble, and classy. The shoulder piece looks like a cozy wrap that would keep you warm while you kick butt. I found several pieces of light armor that had fur lining or at least something that looked fur-like, so I wound up throwing this together.

The main difficulty in getting this outfit to work was the dye job though. Almost every piece takes dye so much differently than the others.

I usually walk around with the headpiece hidden, but the one I chose for this outfit was the Stately Circlet, as it gave it a bit of a "battle caster" look to it. You can see it and the Luminous Pillar in the last picture.
