That's the look I ended up with when I tried to dress my mes as if he was wearing heavy armour. :V

While this upload is lacking a little when it comes to overall presentation (description, screens), the armour itself looks really cool!
It certainly has an apparel of heavy armour and the headpiece and the shoulders look like they´d belong to one set!
The dyes look royal with a hint of Mesmer thanks to the purple, the hole look just feels true to lore and that´s what I like about it
I´d definitely drop the wings however
Overall a really cool look that could certainly be gold with a better presentation!

I really like this look, being a fellow Norn mes :) Your armor and weapon choices are very fitting. I like that you used hints of more muted purple. The wings however do not go with the look.
The presentation is lacking. Since he has a very regal look, try different areas that would compliment. Also try playing with your camera setting; flied of view, position near, etc. Some action shots with the purple effects, or clones and such would elevate the presentation as well. A little extra work and this could definitely be a gold look from me.

Thank you for your kind words, I feel encouraged to work on the presentation. :) I want to replace wings with Branded Backpiece, it should look better. :)

Mesmers of Tyria unite! :D I kind of created tthis look to go with weapons, because Ebon Vanguard ones are my favourite. As I wrote in another response, I want to replace wings with Branded Backpiece. :) And thank you for tips on screens, I'm not a good "photographer," but they'll be helpful. :)

The mix looks really cool actually it looks like heavy armor and the color make him like preserve the Mesmer feeling but you need more presentation and screenshots!

While I like the idea behind this look, I personally think there's quite a bit you can improve.

The armor combo is quite nice, I may miss a little metal in the boots if possible, as this seem to be the only armor piece without.

The dye job I find a bit troublesome. when I was looking at your character, I really had to focus to let my eyes stay around the chest area. Due to the amount of high contrast going on here, my eyes where drawn to feet where the contrast where a bit more calm.
Imagine you have 2 screens, the first screen is filled with black and white noise, and the other screen is dark with a soft gradient of colors. what screen would you most likely let your eyes rest at?

maybe also look a bit into the shading on the different armor pieces as they don't always match. for example, the midnight ice dye on the gloves is very black, while it's more a very dark blue on the rest of the armor. also the Brandywine dye is quite a bit lighter in the headpiece than the rest.
This creates a kind of unbalance in the colors which can also help to be a bit confusing to the eyes, especially when combined with the high contrasts you've got going on.

Finally the screenshots. Right now you only have pictures from the front. I really miss one or more from the side and back + some other lighting conditions. Also try to play with the camera position and FoV settings a bit :)

Sorry for the long post, but i hope some of this can help? ^^

Thank you, it is helpful. :)

I also have a little problem with metal on my chestpiece, I as switching between Iron and White Gold and I finally chose the latter. It was a choice from between too dark and too bright. :P I thought about changing chest to Trickster, but it requires buying it for gems and I'm not really that eager to do that...

As to colours in general - I don't have many dyes unlocked and I'm working with what I have. Unless I decide to buy more I don't really see any changes in colouring.

When it comes to shoes, Heritage ones are the only ones I currently like.

And yeah, screens, they'll come soon (maybe :P).

I know how it is to lack dyes, I had the same when i started. The most expensive dye i owned at the time was white, which i got from a lucky drop.
since then I've slowly gotten my hands on some more expensive ones, like Charred, Carnage Orange and some enamaled ones.
but it doesn't always require expensive dyes to make a stunning dyejob. though it may take a long time of searching for just the right ones.

Now you brought up the metal on the chest piece. It's often a good idea to try and keep the materials roughly the same color. so metal uses one color, cloth uses another and so on. this makes it easier for people to distinguish what is what. ofc if one armor piece is only 1 material you should still have some variation of some sort, either color or shade.
Here you have the main metal in the head and shoulder pieces to be Midnight ice, which gives this dark blue color, and then in the chest and leg pieces the metal is all of a sudden bright baige. there's a lot of small factors which confuses the brain a little.

I see a lot of potential, and look forward to what you come up with next ^^
