My engineer has gone through so many wardrobe changes, but this one feels like it stuck the best thematically. Ambrite weapons are really cool.

In response to the request that I elaborate on this character:
This is Chiyorix, of Iron Legion, my first character in GW2. (Not going to lie, most of the events of his life are loosely based on the personal story due to him being my first character. Still, I shook it up a bit.) He lost a large portion of his warband during the battle against Duke Barradin, and what remained had to slowly rebuild.

Chiyorix sought renown through honor and duty. His inventor's guild is credited with the invention of the Ghostbore Musket, and the concept of charr magitech became a more tangible idea that Chiyorix would carry with him.

His endeavors lead him to the Vigil, where he met Metavox, a sylvari who would become his closest friend.

As the Pact pushed toward Zhaitan, Chiyorix joined an elite team of engineers who worked below-deck on the Glory of Tyria. His efforts helped keep the airship afloat after it was attacked by Zhaitan.

In the following years, Chiyorix grew restless. He readily aided the Battle of Lion's Arch, and was deeply saddened by the loss of the familiar city.

As the push against Mordremoth began, Chiyorix immediately leaped on the opportunity, following one of the first parties into the Maguuma Wastes. There he found the magically-infused ambrite, and his memory latched on to the idea inspired by the Ghostbore technology. There, Chiyorix used ambrite to fuel his familiar style of weaponry.

The battle against Mordremoth hit very close to home for Chiyorix. His best friend, Metavox, said his final farewell before turning to the Nightmare Court in hopes of warding off Mordremoth's influence. Metavox hasn't been seen since.

Would love to see more screenshots, and would also love to hear more about this character. What prompted the choosing of the Ambrite weapons? Armor choice? Just lay on the presentation!

Your armor combination is very original, and the softer, earthy dyes are very pleasing to the eyes. You even took the time to match the Ambrite color on your gloves + headpiece, and it looks great!

I'm not too sold on the Midnight Ice, however. While it looks nice on the armor mix, I don't see it fitting well with the Ambrite weapons. I think a strong gold-brown or dark gold would fit it perfectly. Perhaps try out Midnight Gold/Walnut/Tarnish/Cocoa? I have a feeling one or a mix of these would bring out a nice contrast with your ambrite weapons and lighter dyes.

Give me a stronger description, and a handful more screens, and a touchup of the dyes and it'll be a perfect rating

New screenshots added and the description has been updated with his backstory.

I tried the various dyes you recommended, and while some looked good (particularly cocoa), they made the outfit feel a bit too flat in my opinion, as the whole thing became a shade of brown. With the midnight ice, it seems to add an extra layer of depth, so I do still prefer that.

Glad I could be of help. I have to admit, I do have a bit of a problem with making things a bit too brown, heh.

You're right about the midnight ice dye, though. It does make the armor mix pop out a bit more compared to the other earthy dyes. It's a bit more subtle, too. I also like the screens you've provided, and your description is much better -- accurately reflecting your character's direction and making references to your choices of weapons/armor!

Always nice to see good looking charr, as well!

I had the same issue during launch. I've played around enough to become much more comfortable with vibrant and unique color schemes. (My execution on said outfits are still up for judgement, though.)

Actually, I checked out your page. You have a ton of cool outfits (I'll have to go through them more thoroughly later), but I recognize a few from fashion posts in the subreddit. It's awesome to meet the person behind them.

I love how the headpiece and gloves match the weapons specifically and you used blue in the whole rest of the outfit to compliment that very nicely done.

Thanks!
If you have any recommendations for screenshots, I'd appreciate it. There's only so much you can do with an engineer, especially when the ambrite rifle (my only ambrite weapon) is part of the outfit.

you could try some of the weapon kits for one or two screens, the rifle doesn´t have to be on EVERY screenshot, does it?
also, if you don´t need the rifle on every shot, all the emotions make for nice screens, like /yes or /laugh, if you time them right they are reeeeally cool

Yeah, I realized that the rifle isn't necessarily mandatory for the screenshots. I caved and used the hammer in one.

I've actually been trying to get the /laugh pose, because I see it in https://gw2style.com/look.php?id=8418 and it looks amazing. I just have yet to pull it off successfully.

I love the armor combination and dyes! Great primary screen of him, too. It's a very original look, and the only thing missing is more screenshots! :)
