My contest submission for /r/GuildWarsDyeJob's Legendary Look Fashion Contest (https://www.reddit.com/r/GuildWarsDyeJob/comments/40pjre/).

Ever so fascinated with Jormag and his Icebrood, armoursmith Sinthra Frostclaw had but one wish: to capture the dragon's grace and ferocity. Thus, she set to work. After several failed attempts of crafting herself a suit of armour that at least remotely resembled or inspired the look of one of Jormag's claws, she stumbled across something else, while brooding over some books she had brought as reference. There was a legendary axe rumoured to exist, a wonderful piece of craftsmanship crafted out of the Tooth of Frostfang. This axe's name was Frostfang, named after the ferocious champion of Jormag. SInthra was in awe, and her original plan was soon replaced by the desire to craft an armour to match this axe - after obtaining Frostfang, of course. Thus she set to work.

Fast-forward to now. Sinthra Frostclaw weighs the axe in her paws and lets her gaze slowly wander. Her white tail swishes back and forth in a calm rhythm, matching the icy breathing of her axe, fashioned after a dragon's maw, and the movements of the fragmented dragon wings on her back. The arm holding the axe is encased in ice, but she feels no cold. Sharp spikes glisten metallic on her gauntlets and the back of her breastplate. The back of her legguards resemble leathery wings. Her right shoulder is adorned by a dragon's head, made of crystals and steel, and its piercing blue eyes stare into the void. Of the same colour are her own eyes, now focused on the approaching enemy. She lifts the axe in greeting and a sudden fierceness enters her gaze. Her movements become blurry, trails of ice flashing through the air. Her strikes are fast and precise. She roars - and for a split of a second her armour and weapons melt, revealing the dragon underneath.

I couldn't place what race your character at first -- and that's an incredibly good thing. To me, the figure in picture was something otherwordly (otherTyria-ly) altogether, some arresting, draconic creature. It's unique, and lorebending (as in -- the backstory might not be what isn't usually prescribed for a Charr, but more-than-plausible within the world of Tyria nonetheless). Your armor mix and dyes are fantastic - uncompromising and defiant. Gold.

Whoa, whoa! Are you me? Are we twins? Distantly related maybe, cause this is eerie. My character looks almost exactly like yours. Charr, female, white fur, Frostfang, T3 Helm; the works. http://i.imgur.com/0XmZB6J.png.

I have to say though, while it's hard to stay impartial when a look so closely resembles your own, I like this look. Although, I didn't, not at first. Initially, I felt like some of the pieces didn't belong. The gauntlets, while spiky like the rest of the armor, felt too wide. The shoulder-piece looked too asymetrical. And the wings seemed an unecessary addition that didn't fit, their blue graphic and shimmery texture weren't matching the rest of your armor.

Your description, though, really pulled this look together. The concept, to make an armor set that symbolized the feel of Jormag, was something I think you really succeeded at. The gloves and shoulder-piece suddenly felt more fitting. The spikes and dragon-head really emphasizing the feel of an ice dragon in your armor. The wings also no longer felt like an add-on, but more like an extension of the potential of Jormag's power. That, in combination with your dyes and screenshots, really added up to make this a fine look.

Thanks for your comment! I agree, at first I was sceptical with the shoulder piece as well due to its asymmetry (we need more symmetrical shoulders!), but I fell in love with the glowing eye and its mirroring of my character's own eye. Funnily enough, I did not choose the gauntlets for their spikes, but for the claws they resembled - there are not many pieces that fully encase the paws of a charr.

Sinthra's fur is actually black by the way, just the tip of her tail is white. Here's an old screenshot with one of her failed armour attempts that shows her actual appearance a bit better: http://i.imgur.com/lGO2iqN.png

I really like your charr's look by the way! She's rocking that frosty theme!

Was just coming on the site to find a crystal-themed look for my charr herald; this was exactly what I had imagined in my mind, well done!
