A pretty commonly used look from what I gather, but I'll submit it anyways.

This is Kain Praus - necromancer, but most importantly doctor. Some call him a healer. Through the power of blood and blood magic he transfers life force from himself or from captive, as he calls them, "life force containers". That's captured militants, to others. Since he's not a fighter he may ask others to beat separatists or renegades unconcious, and bring them home. Anyways, yeah, he carries blood around in order to perform these rituals in field hospitals or wherever you might need some healing. His dagger's got vials right on the handle for convenient storage.

I've styled his head after 20th century european scientists and doctors, where the big beards and swoopy hairstyles (sadly the only swoopy hairstyle looks a bit hip) were all the rage. Following is a description on each piece.

Glasses are because he doesn't see too well. In character they're not reading glasses, but seeing glasses.

Mechanism on chest is a charr-contracted vitals monitor. It's good to have, since he may have to use his own blood or lifeforce.

Gloves are handy for not getting your hands all messy when digging around in a patient, or when... harvesting one.

The belt can hold vials and pouches, and the buttflap is great for when you're out and about and need to sit down on some moss or whatever.

The tough boots keep your feet warm and dry when traversing swamps, deserts, or wherever you're needed.

The main image is unaltered for Look Battles - the second one is sharpened, and has SweetFX, which adds a rich fullness to his beard.

Ohh the story!! ^^
Chest armor looks like it has rolled-up sleeves, combined with gloves character seems to be ready for the surgery.
And now I totally agree with using glasses ^^
You hit the concept very well. Smart and absolutely amazing.

The glasses, beard, and gloves don't really fit, despite the backstory. This is almost identical to an older look on this website, but nonetheless famous for taking top place for weeks - thus, this look pales in comparison, but it's also pretty stale without its recent predecessor.

Unless the goal was to be off-putting different, but this look just doesn't look that amazing to me.

@Kovalenko: I was afraid of just that. I don't use GW2style much so I had no chance of seeing it in the top place, all I did before submitting this look was searching for use of this chestpiece and these pants on human males, and luckily there's only 5 of us including me so I figured I might as well. I can understand why it rates low on originality, but I'm having a hard time matching any leggings with this chestpiece. Is it the chestpiece that's too overused, then?

It's the lack of a uniform feel that's throwing it off. Are you going for an elegant look, or a rugged look? Or both? Right now it looks rugged, but everything in your description hints more at posh, stylish, classy, etc. despite the gory adjectives. (i.e. white gloves when digging through a body? try digging through the cupboard for fine tea and silver spoons) That is my biggest gripe.

Keep in mind, you're trying to win over a minority here. My opinion isn't a popular one and unless you make drastic changes to the backstory or the look it just won't be a gold for me.

I'm not seeing what you're seeing, I'm afraid. To me it all comes together. Among people he's got a refined and educated look - Neatly trimmed beard, glasses, white gloves, a shirt and vest. Consider the TF2 medic. A scholarly man, dresses nicely and talks with an education, but he doesn't mind getting a bit of blood on his tie.

The white gloves are for appearance, first hand. If someone enters an inn and takes off a pair of white gloves, he would look more civilized than someone taking off leather gloves for instance.

I see your points, but I'm afraid I don't agree with them. Thanks for the input, regardless!

I think the glasses, the beard, and the white gloves fit completely with the story. He is a healer, a scholar, and a gentleman. I see the white gloves as the same vinyl or latex gloves healthcare professionals use in their work.

The description for the mechanism on the chest seems like an excuse to throw it in here. It doesn't really flow with the rest of the outfit, imho. I think this has a ton of potential and I bet the less over-the-top gliders fit him aesthetically amazingly well, but from a first glance, like I said, the one steampunk aspect seems out of place.
