Far Afields a Leaf can Travel

"Mother, you have given your children a home of beauty, born and thriving amongst your root. I have been immersed in delight that is being one with my sproutling-kin, and the clarity of the wind, flurrying plumes of glimmering spores-- like stars under your leaves, guiding my thoughts.

But my Wyld Hunt calls to me.

It will pull me away from the moonlight of your open canopy and into harsher relish; the starving sprouts and flowers that struggle to breath in the wounded cracks of the sick earth. It cries a far louder plea than the Nightmare Courts undoing under the trees of Celadon. It calls for me to travel far afield into tormented corners of the earth and to the civil unrest festering in kingdoms of stone that rise higher than your canopy, Mother..

I know not when I will see your forests again. I know not when I will be able to bathe amongst moonbeams and stand along even one, single sprout or tree that is not mourning or threatened. I have taken this flower as a reassurance to the life you give-- that I too hope I can bestow.

So this is the last time. Under the turning leaves that represent the transition that my Wyld Hunt will bring my life, I say..
