Trying to stay away from the more 'busy' looking pieces of armor, while simultaneously making use of more muted tones. Hoping to give off a more melancholy, lonely vibe.

Also looking for suggestions on boots / gloves. Was difficult to find a match for the splint shoulder / carapace breastplate combo.

The dyes look cool IMO. For the boot, maybe try the Glorious, T3 human one?. Gloves look fine to me but if you want to try another piece I suggest the Grasping Death one

It's funny that you're trying to stay away from the ''busy'' looking pieces yet the carapace top and kodan legs show a lot of details. Not that it's a bad thing though ^_^
I like the dyes.

In retrospect, perhaps 'busy' was the wrong word. 'Clean' would probably be a much better descriptor ^^;; I tend to stay away from pieces of armor that have lots of random patchy bits, or flashes of skin showing (Arah, Vigil pieces). Those pieces definitely have a place, and I've seen some stunning armor combos with those two, but they're not my type.

I definitely appreciate the feedback though, and will give the cultural stuff a look :) Does anyone happen to know any good photoshooting locations?

I definitely agree on the wanting a clean look. :D

For both gloves and boots tempered, branded, and split seem like they would match. Other gloves, t3, whispers, and priory. Other boots draconic.

I agree with that. I think in general, the armour pieces might be the problem. Based on the character selection screenshot, it looks like the armour is inherently rusted in its look, and you're not going to achieve a clean (or non-busy) look with that rust.

The suggestion regarding glorious skins are a good starting point. Lustre = clean

Wow, all this feedback is really great! Wish I joined earlier.

Perhaps I do need a new starting point indeed and I'll have to take some time reconstructing a new look.

Lots of potential, this is a good starting point so please don't do a complete overhaul or else it becomes another outfit completely!
