Skydiving is an action experience in a class of its own. Already at the start of the machine, which climbs to about four kilometres, your pulse races. From this distance, everything you see on earth seems tiny. Only the parachute on your back, the bottomless depth below you. One thought chases the next, then the maximum flight altitude is reached: jump! At breathtaking speed you race towards the earth in free fall. Pure adrenalin rush. Indescribable feelings flow through your body. The air makes cheeks and jumpsuit flutter. A jubilation - for up to 60 seconds you feel like a bird. Then the parachute opens. Wow! That was pure madness! After a few rounds in the air, the parachute lands gently.

The deployment of the parachute can be done either directly during the jump as an automatic parachute jump from low altitudes with round canopies or at high altitudes with parachute canopies as well as at a later time manually during the freefall jump. The minimum height for the opening procedure is 400 m. Usually the opening takes place at an altitude of 800 m to 700 m. Paragliders sink at 100 % forward speed (which can be more than 60 km/h) with about 5 m/s (18 km/h), the impact on the ground (without the horizontal component) is therefore equivalent to a jump from 1.25 m height. Round canopy parachutes have a constant sink rate of 3.5 to 5 m/s depending on canopy size and jumper weight.

...today I allow myself some fun and present a skydiving instructor with her student.
There are no prescribed clothes for parachuting. So I improvised freely.
Since the air blows quite aggressively into your face at the high speeds involved in skydiving, it is advisable to use goggles. Otherwise your eyes will start watering very quickly and the fun of jumping will be lost if you can't read the altimeter properly because of all the water in your eyes.
Headgear - headgear is still mandatory. Most jumpers use robust yet light helmets, others prefer the good old leather cap.
Skydiving is not possible without - the parachute. Depending on the size and type of parachute, and are fully controllable. Quite contrary to a round canopy (which ANet prefers). If you hang on a round canopy, you can only hope that the wind blows halfway favorable and you don't land on the next cow meadow or in the forest (I have experienced this myself often enough, lol). It's a bit like the dandelions and the wind...
Look at the screens and feel the life when the airplane door opens, you hear your heart pounding and gasp for breath: Should I really? And then the free fall towards the earth. Just feeling, not thinking. Until the parachute catches you and you're carried again... Have fun...
