An original idea for a guard captain. the look i had in mind was that of a guard captain who lost an eye during duty, who's key weapons are a pair of chain-whip-swords to bring foes to justice and is renowed enough to have a decent set of armor and works primeraly in Lion's Arch

The color combo came to me after noticing the chain-whip-swords' pattern and realising the lack of decent "green" colored "knight"/plate like armor sets, and the rest sort of flowed from there, i had her have short hair because well during a fight it'd be dangerous if they'd grab your hair from behind if long etc.

Character: Aurora Sanguinar
Location: Lion's Arch
____Items Used:____
Magnus' LEft Eye patch
Phalanx Shoulders
Luminous Heavy Cuirass
Phalanx Gauntlets
Warlord's Legplates
Mist Shard Greaves
Runic Cape
2x Chain-whip Sword
Flame Legion Staff (for the halbard look)

____Dyes____
Enameled Perseverance (main cloth dye)
Brass/ Radiant Brass/ Matriarch brass (dark and light edging colors)
Enameled Sacrifice / scarlet (the extra details)

I really dig the green on this. You are right on how few times it's used. I don't see it often, though I did dedicate an entire look to the color green for my Revenant at one point to add some color diversity. I also think that the rapier or Lord Faren's Rapier would work well too. Though I can see why you would use the chain-whip sword.

You might get some flak for using the Luminous armor pieces so many times but as far as I'm concerned, another gold for me.

perhaps, but it's also one of the more rare, very detailed and fun-to-dye pieces of heavy armor, it has details, multiple color patterns (shoulder straps, chest strap etc) and overall fits the "high ranking guard" type of look without feeling like a tank

that and i overused these on my revenant to stay somewhat in tune to her "vanguard" theme xD

Oh yeah, there are plenty of reasons to make use of it, especially the chest piece. But I've seen, from time to time, folks talk down on a look for using more than two or so pieces of armor from one set. Plus I wouldn't worry about using it for more than one character as a good piece is a good piece and you used it in different ways there.
