You will fly off the fasten track and off the beaten tracks. In Heart of Maguuma alone, there are many settlements and places that can only be reached from outside by plane. They fly in the airborne border area and what would be for others on the other side of the border is everyday life for them. They do not exist too often around the globe, far away from civilization and without witnesses of their mission. What they experience is often not known by a soul. The way to a dream and adventure always leads through the first step. And if plan A and B fail on the way there, you simply have to have plan C ready. If you make it back home and your plane is okay, you are a good pilot. It doesn't matter if you have one, two or five thousand hours of flying experience. You're only as good as your last flight.
She kept asking herself this question in Verdant Brink. The further away from civilization you are from the bush, the further you dare to go over a tree top or enter a remote and uninhabited area, the more you have to rely on yourself and consider different contingencies. This applies to all weather-related situations as well as to various technical malfunctions.
Shortly after take-off she set course to the east and maintained it on the further flight to the border. The weather and visibility were excellent at the beginning, so the first hour of flight passed very quickly. However, the further she went inland, the thicker the air around her became.
The colour of the sky slowly changed from deep blue to grey and began to merge with the ground. After another hour of flight she came across a monstrous thunderstorm that was building up right in front of her. It was right on her path and stretched for several nautical miles in both directions - across the flight path. In front of her was a black wall that stretched horizontally from north to south and vertically from the ground to heights unattainable by her plane. She gave up the idea of getting through the thunderstorm relatively quickly. There was simply no chance! She urgently needed a place to land to wait out the storm...
A cloth armor as an aviator outfit? I don't see why not. With new Illuminated Boreal weapons (I had to think of Aircraft marshalling) and new leg armor from WVW I tried to create a female aviator. So I created a Steampunk inspired figure, which I sent to Verdant Brink.
Light turquoise is the weapon luminescent color, so I used the same colors on back item and chest part and kept the rest rather blown and neutral. The gold color harmonizes with steampunky details.
I hope my idea inspires you
