One for all and all for one!

Oooh it's been a while. I have a few looks that I want to post. A few of them are actually old, like this one. But around Jan/Feb I took a break from the game to focus on other things and never posted a series of looks I had created. This is one of them. Now that I'm back to playing I figure I should start posting again. :)

The Three Musketeers is by far one of my most favorite books. And I love most of the movies, with the 90's Disney version being my favorite. So I've been wanting to create a look inspired by it for some time. This one took awhile to put together. I had to craft some Ascended gear for some proper skins and then I needed to wait for the Gem Store to bring back the perfect rapier before I could get it going.

The Illustrious Guise was one of two pieces that made me think this look would be possible. The moment I saw it I knew I could work it into a Musketeer look. The second key piece was the Swaggering Hat. Without these two pieces, I don't think I would have done the look and I feel they pull it all together. However, the Illustrious Guise did present a few problems. The gold rings on the right arm kept clipping through a lot of the gloves I had picked such as Vigil Honor's Gloves and Prowler Gloves. I eventually moved to the Rascal Gloves though and I think they work just fine. The pants kinda sorta didn't matter for this look. Between the tall boots and the length of the tunic you don't see much of them. I did, however, decide on the Whisper's Secret Legging because I liked the two-color split for them. When it came to boots I actually had a lot of choices going from Buccaneer Boots, Prowler Boots, and Ascalonian Sentry Boots. I settled on the Whisper Secrets Boots though because I liked the daggers on the boots. I then picked the Illustrious Shoulderguards to round the look out.

Colors were tricky. I tried red and green shades at first but they never really worked. I wanted something regal and royal, as in something you would expect to see from royal guards or the king's personal bodyguards. This lead me to pick gold, silvers, and whites to use as highlight colors. I ended up picking blue though to mimic the color of the tunics from my favorite Three Musketeer movie, the 1990's version that Disney made. You should seriously watch the movie if you haven't, it's a lot of fun.

Finally, with the weapons, I looked for something that had a more renaissance look to them, again to mimic 15th to 16th century France. The Gallant skins work exceedingly well for my pistol and rifle. Since this was my Holosmith look I was able to incorporate a sword as well as shield. The Kryta's Embrace shield was a no brainer for me. I almost went with Bonetti's Rapier but when I discovered Lord Faren's Rapier I knew that was the sword to complete my look.

I ended up taking my screens in Queensdale since Kyrta has that very European look and feel to it. I was able to find a vineyard so that I could mimic France.
