'And when the world rang with the clanging of swords and did fire fall from the skies, Dwayna, goddess of life and air, heard the wailings and pleas of the weak.

And when the rumblings of war did not cease, came Her charge, Doric, who did prostrate himself at Her feet.

And cast She now a glance upon the war-torn lands and wasted flesh of the fallen, and with tears upon Her cheek did lay Her gentle hands upon the prostrate man. Then saith She unto to him and all Her charges, "Lay down thy weapons, and as I have done unto ye, so ye must do for your brethren. Offer protection to the weak. Give solace and shelter to those who need it. Be ye a salve to the wounded.

"For I am your goddess, and I will give blessings to all who follow these teachings."

— Scriptures of Dwayna, 115 BE'

Winnowen is not a blackguard.

Not *exactly*.

Raised by a zealous priest of Dwayna who interpreted the scriptures a little, shall we say, differently, and who wouldn't recognize common sense if it was handed to him in a cornet with chocolate chips on top, Winnowen has dedicated her life to protecting the weak, sheltering the needy, and healing the wounded...

...by removing, with great prejudice, those who cause all of Dwayna's flock to be weak, needy, and wounded.

She escaped, by the skin of her teeth, becoming the Hero of Shaemoor. She was too busy slaughtering centaurs left, right, and center, missing the crucial fight against the Earth Elemental at Shaemoor Garrison by mere minutes.

As far as Winnowen is concerned, this was only a minor setback. There are other things to kill, other lands to spread Dwayna's greatness to, other threats to remove.

She has since carved a bloody path across Tyria, quite content to let the heroes do the hero stuff while she's busy over *here*, doing other stuff. She did join the Pact, but only because it granted her free passage to new lands that could certainly use her special brand of "Dwayna mercy". Being a rampaging one-woman-army with a tendency to quote scripture at enemies while roasting them with holy fire does not, Winnowen has learned, pay well.

And so she trundles on, moving from one, er, bloody massacre to the next, always on the lookout for those weak, needy, and wounded who need saving...whether they want it or not.

This is a RP character I've had LOADS of fun with, mainly because she represents a facet of human religion we're rarely exposed to in Tyria: zealous idiots. True to her backstory, she has not "played" any of the personal story or killed Zaithan or Mordremoth. If I wasn't such a complete nut for map completion, she never would've set foot out of core Tyria. My other "heroes" would either try to avoid her at all cost, shoot her from a safe distance, or have her committed to Tyria's equivalent of the loony bin.

The armor is simple - Winnowen cannot afford shiny swords or other luxuries, and as a result of her constant travel, what she wears has long since become scratched and cobbled together, with dull, faded colours. Of the suit of armor given to her when she joined the Vigil side of the Pact, only the pauldrons and pants remain. Although she IS a follower of Dwayna, she does not have any of the usual Dwayna-regalia, like the backpack or bow because, again, money. I also wanted to avoid the typical "evil" look by choosing other colours than black and red.

There aren't many ( if any ) action screens. I took a good hundred or so, but the details on the armor always end up kinda weird and stretchy when the character is in motion, OR that blasted Guardian arm shield obscures everything.

Screens aren't edited. Armor mix isn't the most original. The head piece does not fit the "guardian" theme at all, but there are very few heavy armor head pieces I can stand, and it kind of does look cobbled together from rags and a few random bits of metal, soooooooo I'm keeping it.

Really awesome character. I love how you've written her. I haven't seen anyone quite like her on here before.

It's not as flashy or fancy as some other styles, but I'm giving a gold for it being unique and that backstory. Good job, man.
