Dorethea is a young, temperamental, stubborn and unyielding Norn. She was destined for greatness from her birth, as the shamans said her ashen hair and pale eyes were an omen from the Spirits of the Wild, and that she is protected by all four of them.

Sure enough she proved herself to be an astonishing warrior, spending her youth beating any challenge that was set upon her. But the true test was yet to reveal itself. One fateful summer day, when Dorethea was out hunting by a stream, she saw a great white bear. Eager to hunt such great game, she made her way across the water, jumping over slippery stones. But in her eagerness, she misstepped and fell, slamming her head against one of the stones and finally disappearing into the icy cold below. She was not seen for many years after.

What had happened, she could not tell, but she found herself caught in a place where time and space did not seem to exist. She met legends from many centuries past, encountered beings who defied all reason, and wandered through arcades that had been lost in time.

When she woke up, she was grasping for air, her lungs were filled with water, she was freezing and dying at the bottom of the stream. Dorethea was not going to die like this. Channeling all the strength she had left, she pushed herself upward and emerged from the icy waters, five years after her people thought she had died.

From her journey into the mists she brought great powers with her, ones of beings that the shamans called Revenants. Now able to invoke the powers of the characters she had met, she set upon continuing her journey to greatness. But only after having a warm meal and an even warmer mead, and spending some quality time doing what she enjoys most: Killing Svanir.
