Sverrir Astus, the Knight of the Thorn

After quelling White Mantle in Lake Doric and slaying Caduceus, chronomancer Sverrir Astus returned to his home in Hoelbrak to catch a breath after his latest exploits. However, adventurers in Tyria are rarely bored and have little time to put their feet up, for all sorts of troubles, mysteries, and adventures are drawn to them like flies to a carcass. Ridhais, a sylvari valiant whose Wyld Hant was to take care of the legendary sylvari sword Caladbolg, visited Sverrir and revealed that the weapon, the Pale Tree's own thorn, can be regrown. The chronomancer went through time, space, and dreams to collect shattered pieces of Caladbolg and to connect with it. The process was finalised at the Orrian Artesian Waters, and Sverrir felt that his senses heightened, as if he was more aware of the flow of time itself. The endless possibilities of how the future events could unfold, how the present could have been different, and reasons behind what is now a history flashed before his eyes and started to haunt him in his dreams. In order to harness his newfound insight Sverrir went on a quest to create an armour of leystone to root himself more within Tyria's present thanks to the connection to the earth, stone and soil, while enhancing his magical abilities with the power of ley lines. He became a chronomancer stronger than before. To top it all off, the Pale Tree granted him an audience and to honor Sverrir's quest to regrow Caladbolg and his service for the common good, she granted him a title of the Knight of the Thorn, and a flower of great beauty to remind him all things have a right to grow.


Yay, an elaborate description this time! Screenshots are still lazy though. :P I've completed the latest Caladbolg quest and as many others I really liked it. I also like the looks of the sword regrown (except for, maybe, the shield skins) and I wanted to create a new look connected to nature, plants, earth, etc. Originally I wanted to create something plant-based, but there aren't many options for non-sylvari characters so I've tried to put together something tribal/primitive, but I've ended up with a rougher, fighter-like look. I'm content that I've used lestone armour because it gives the look some connection to nature. The swords are Caladbold Orchida and Rosa I hope you enjoy it and I welcome any of your suggestions. :)
