Its all about merging the cycle of the night theme into a character.

The whole design is more focussed on small details rather than large single-standing impressive parts. The combination of all of those small features keeps the outfit interesting to watch.

The colors of the outfit are kept dark with some small colorful and bright highlights. It should compliment the natural beauty of the sylvari-character instead of being overwhelmingly colorful. Edit: Side-Note: This is a mesmer character which is why a light purple was chosen for highlighting.

The outfit itself is rather unimpressive - without a sylvari to comfort the cut-outs on the armor that is. That being said, the beauty of sylvari is not only defined by their plantish-growy feel but created by their ability to feature glowy elements. The outfit is taken to compliment glow-patterns at it leaves most of the important parts - where glow-patterns can be placed - uncovered. The arm-covering of the vestment also goes along with the growth-pattern of the sylvari. Overall lots of sylvaris distinctive features are visible. The chrono-shoulders also feature some glow which is awesome as an additional highlight.

The weapons are used as an additional eye-catcher. The off-hands feature some glow-effects that go along with the theme of the outfit. Swords are chosen to be less of an eye-catcher but to feature a rapier-based outlook, that compliments the other off-hands while also keeping the focus on them and not the mere sword. Edit: Note that the lines from the armor and the weapons align in flow direction (as does the leg armor with the back-pattern).

Personally I think, that if you wished to show beauty and the glow of sylvari, you should use some cultural armor, it would be more natural. Cultural armor I think have glow as well, so you could manage something with it. Usingredients colors to highlight the sylvari skin color, or blend with it. As you said yourself the armor is unimpressive. Nothing new, and all screens are dark so I can't see those details or colors. However it's just my opinion.

Hey, thanks for your constructive feedback!!

I went back to look through the sylvari cultural armor (as you might have noticed, the feet are from that since all others look plain horrible). Unfortunately, the vestments hide the back-pattern (which is one of my favorite things in the whole game). However, the dryd one (T1) looks promising (the "salad" on the back matches the flow of the whole character due to the hair) and it leaves out the back! You`re right about the glow-effect. It has some bad clipping with the leg armor though - and if I remember correctly with all others aswell except for the cultural leg piece.

For me, personally, all of the cultural leg armors are rather.. lets say I do not appreciate how their movement behavior is animated. I will keep on searching some new leg armor without too bad clipping error and review the design afterwards.

I`ll go for some lightier - and closer - screens right away though, thanks for mentioning. I came to notice by your comment that one can e.g. not even see the blue lines on the gloves or the claws it creates.

Have a great eve, sir - and again: thanks for the much appreciated feedback. :)

Hey, nice to see a new screens. Now I can see colours.
So about the leg armor. Well for my sylvarI I use orchid legs (t2) and snapdragon coat (t1). I love all the t3 armor, but that is too expensive. My problem with sylvari is the mostly he don't look good in human armor, and legs, is the worst part as it make the lower part look really massive, fat, even in the thinnest sylvari body type. So no nice boots, and hard time to find bottom. I used same feather top, and went with carapace bottom. Maybe you should check it as well. And if you have time you can look on this site, there is many amazing sylvari characters.
And with screens, personally I like when people add character select screen, it's show it in simply lighting and you can easy overlook all armor. It's just a hint for you future uploads. :) have a good time
