what theme were u going for ? it feels a little bit random to me. not saying its a bad thing but i guess u were going for some kind of samurai look. if so i'd change up the dyes and get rid of the hands. the boot leg chest combo seems like a good idea tho :)

@Deathblade Kenny. The title gives away the theme (Shogun : Samurai General)
I see what you mean about armor pieces that you would not wear. But he is more of a heavy samurai, than one just wearing a Shitagi. Thanks

I really like this, the only thing that looks off to me is the texture of the "scales" on each piece don't match up. For example, the hotw shoulders vs. the se pants vs. the scale boots. But overall, I actually like the color scheme and the look definitely reads as a samurai, kind of like Barry the Chopper from fullmetal alchemist.

This has some promise, but I'd say it could use some work. I glanced at your profile, and it seems that you do have a solid sense of color. That being said, my recommendation would be to check some other samurai/shogun references, and then use your own judgement to bring it all together. Going purely off the reference picture you provided seems to have made the outfit's colors seem rather disjointed.

I think that's the best advice I can offer: research your subject, take in multiple ideas, then paint your own style based on what you've learned. "Trust your instincts" is appropriate here.

Why are almost all of your pictures from the back?

@Conncept: How many front pictures did you want? I didn't know there was a ratio to respect.
