Morianndra, Keeper of Secrets

Tales are told of the great and lost civilizations in the Maguuma Wastes. When the Pact and the Guilds finally stepped foot in these unexplored, isolated lands, all they found was ruins. Great halls made of gold, an entire city carved into the side of a dry desert canyon, all empty save for the Mordrem corruption that ran rampant. No signs of any civilization could be discerned.

However, the great halls and cities that we took over and made our homes in Maguuma are only one version of those ancient peoples' homes. A powerful mesmer of ancient times, one known as Morianndra, attempted to preserve her peoples' culture and history by shifting them in time, to a time when the Mordrem threat was far enough away that her people would not be decimated by the onslaught of thorns. Her powerful spell divided the planes of time, generating many many instances of the same cities. As to which instance her people ended up in, that is shrouded in secret.

Morianndra herself, however, traverses these different planes occasionally, exploring the great halls and doing all the jumping puzzles that the Guilds built, appreciating the strange outcome that her spell of protection had brought. She questions whether separating her brethren from the main world of Tyria was the right choice to make, seeing that despite preserving her culture from the Mordrem Threat, in reality her people would never be known outside of the identity as the builders of these Guild Halls.
